Westerly Public Schools, in an effort to better understand the needs of our student population, is requesting that students and parents take the corresponding surveys on internet connectivity in the home. This information will help guide our Strategic and Technology plans for the future to help us develop thoughtful, intentional strategies and policies that decrease inequities in digital learning.

Dunn’s Corners Elementary School
WHAT: Snow play during morning recess at Dunn’s Corners Elementary School
WHY: To get the kids outside for fresh air and exercise!
HOW: Your child needs all of the following to be allowed to play outside in the snow during recess…
Gloves (waterproof preferable)
Snow pants or a snow suit
Winter snow boots
WHEN: Every day except on days when temperatures, wind chill, and field conditions don’t allow for it.
To keep it safe and fun…Children who do NOT have the appropriate snow gear
OR are not safe will not be permitted to participate in snow play at recess.
Students who do not come to school with appropriate snow gear will be limited to playing on the blacktop area only during morning recess.
Parents are reminded to send indoor shoes or sneakers in backpacks for use during indoor learning activities!
Donations of the following are needed and welcomed….
Extra snow pants, gloves, hats (new) or waterproof mittens your child has outgrown.
SNOW PLAY WILL BEGIN AFTER THE FIRST BIG SNOWFALL

Volunteers MUST complete all 3 steps to the new Volunteer process - online Volunteer Application, Confidentiality Statement and Westerly Police Dept form.
Your BCI will be matched up with the Volunteer Application & Confidentiality Statement before approval is given. If you don't have access to a computer, you may utilize a Dunn's Corners School computer from 3:30-4:00pm Monday through Friday.
If you are transferring to Dunn's Corners school, Mrs. Butler will schedule a school tour and answer any questions you may have. If you haven't registered your child yet, please remember to call (401) 315-1570 to set up an appointment at Central Registration.
If you are transferring OUT of Dunn's Corners school, we will prepare your child's records to be sent to his or her new school (once registered).
We will close achievement gaps in special education, increase proficiency levels for all students, and bring greater numbers of students to the achievement category: proficient with distinction.
